26 January

The entry and hospitality areas now have ceilings. (above) Gary Gustafson trying unsuccessfully to not be in the picture
Hospitality area has a high ceiling and walls. Drywall crew (that is Curt Becker and Bob Schmidt of Becker Drywall) hard at work. I have suggested that if we keep that lift, it can be used to give real punch to certain parts of the sermon ...
The Sound and Light station for worship will stand in fron of all those junction boxes.
The Kitchen is getting walled in.
Standing by the (west) back door looking down the hall into the worship area. That is Carl Bjork of Joe's Plumbing and Heating on the right. He is entering the Library / Conference Room. Ryan Becker, the cheif drywall man, is standing near the east wall in the worship area.

For perspective, Carl is about 6'3" and Ryan is about 5'10".

Drywall & insulation crew are hard at work.

18 January

We had an open house of sorts. Coffee hour, following worship on Sunday, was held at the new facility. At least 60 people showed up to get a good look around.

17 January

Typical, mundane construction details slowed things down a bit this week, but the drywall crew arrived Friday and are making time like nobody's business.

Ryan Becker and his drywall crew in the west wing hall way.

The offices are now walled off from the Worship space. That is the front doorway to the left. (The door will be changed.) and some of the sprinkler pipe on the floor.
Up in the attic above the offices, next to the storage loft (which might be partly youth assembly area) there are sprinker pipes going in.
Sprinker pipes above, and electrical conduit below.
Karen's office looking toward pastor's.
Standing back by the kitchen, the north wall of the hallway.
And the south wall. (There is a temporary cover at the end to keep the heat in for the coffee hour and tour on Sunday!)

9 & 12 January, 2009

The insulation bat is done in the worship space. When they can get the temperature up, there is a spray on insulation that (I think) will go on the ceiling.

Of course to keep the insulation above the offices and classrooms, they had to put up the sheet rock.
The sprinkler installation folks arrived today. Here they are dropping off their rig.
And here is all the stuff that is going to hang up over our hears for fire safety.

January 7

Since this is Northern Wisconsin, and the outside temperature is right around 0 today, a little insulation might be a prudent thing. The crew is putting it up in the Worship space ...

... and have already finished the west wing.

These are probably the last pictures of the exterior for a while. The framing and sheeting are done, as is the shingling. But, take note that the insulation crew was on site yesterday. At the taking of these pictures, they were still unloading.
