March 31

Carpenters are putting casings around windows ...
More parts keep arriving ... this is the trim and casings.
South wall windows are finished.
The window to the office gets trimmed out.
Pastor's office and convertible. (The car is not actually part of the building project.)
The workroom cabinets.
The hospitality area also has cabinets and a sink for coffee, treats and the altar guild.
On Friday, Gary G and another volunteer got the dais (a fancy word for stage) put in the front of the worship space to hold the instruments and the altar.

March 20

Spring has come, and the bathroom tile is done!

The beams in the worship space are now uncovered from their protective wrapping. The lights and ceiling fans are up.

The siding is going up.
The tile in the front and back entries are done. Here is the front.
Siding work continues.

The drop ceilings are going up
The office and classrooms not only have ceilings but lights!
And the trim and door casings have arrived.

March 9

Quite a lot has been happening at the building on Greenwood Lane. Sorry that it's been a while since the last update ... Lent and all that.

The worship space lights are up. There are also some directional spots mounted in the ceiling to give additional light as needed.

This is Kurt from Northern Electric getting ready to install some more of the lights.
A new front door was put in last week.
Trim is being painted, inside and out, around the windows.
Suspended ceiling framework is going up. The last of the duct work is being done, and every room will have a ceiling mounted motion detector, center of the room above, to help reduce electric costs.
The bathroom porcelain has arrived; I rather doubt I'm going to post photographs of it when it's installed, so just know that it is here.
Light fixtures are now functional in much of the building. This is the men's bathroom where the sinks will go.
This morning, tile is being installed in the entryway and bathrooms.
And here, they have begun to peel back the protective coating from the ceiling joists in the worship space. If the picture is not clear they walnut stained wood laminate.
This was not done last week; as of this morning the suspended ceiling framework is finished in the offices, classrooms and the hallways.
And we have a new backdoor as well.

Pay no attention to the man reflected in that window.

February 27

Lots of hard work is about to disappear. Look now, because soon you won't be able to see any ductwork, sprinkler system pipes or drywall so carefully attached to the ceiling. At least not in the classroom and office parts of the building.

The hopper/silo for the wood pellet burner got set up right at some point.
And my office got a coat of paint. No, they did not run out of one kind of paint and have to finish with another. The two-tone look was on purpose.
Stacy from Northern Electric is busy installing outlets, switches and cover plates.
Joe and Carl are still putting in ductwork

And while I may have a picture of the guys from Becker Drywall taking a coffee break, they have been hard at work. Here you see they have painted and walled up the worship space. From the altar area looking west toward the entrance...
... and from the entrance area looking toward the east wall where the altar will stand.
